Greetings, adventurers!
Our team is back following the holidays, and we wanted to take the time to wish you all a Happy New Year, as well as to give you a development update.
Note from the Project Lead
Happy New Year everyone! It was great to see so many people enjoying New Dawn over the holidays. I’m starting my week by personally investigation player desync issues as they are a major problem for melee characters in PvP right now. I’m also working with Jeffrey and the team to make sure that we are making significant progress towards the new features coming in PR9. I’m excited for the future of Legends of Aria as we work to flesh out the content and get Legends of Aria out of Early Access and into full release.
Note from the Producer
I thought it would never be over! Myself and the team are very happy to be back and we’ve already started preparing upcoming patches and our next release, Point Release 9. As we will discuss we’ve got some immediate issues to tackle which have been bugging us all over the Christmas period, but once these have been rectified we begin our march towards Point Release 9. I’ll be working closely with Ben and our development team in ensuring we get the right changes out to you as quickly as we can.
My new year’s resolution is to be more available to you guys for regular updates, feedback groups and catch ups. We’re also going to be using our Public Trello board to stay on top of pressing live issues and to allow you to track our progress.
Note from the new Lead Designer
Hi guys, it’s Ben! I’m excited to have the opportunity to help shape the future of New Celeador, and this next point release is shaping up to be one of my favourites to work on. We’re going to be giving players an important tool they need to ignite the ingame economy, give PvP players the means to engage in organized, ranked battles and bring you more diverse professions and abilities. These are just some of the things we’re working on and you’ll no doubt be hearing more from me in the coming weeks, including a blog post from yours truly discussing the state of Early Access and our plans for the year.
Crafting Profession Quests
At the moment, we have a focus on relocating the crafting profession quests outside of Catacombs. We’ve heard your feedback loud and clear on this, and while we wanted to inject our GM Crafting Professions with some of the risk-versus-reward that you’ve come to expect (and sometimes demand!) from Legends of Aria, we realize this move swung a bit too dramatically to the “risk” side of things. We’ll be updating you on changes once they’re available.
Militias
We’re also hard at work on making some changes to our Militia system, with a focus on countering and mitigating some abuses of the system that can take place. We’ve received reports, complaints, and feedback from our community about certain ways in which the system can be exploited during slower periods of the day, and we want to ensure that we’re doing everything we can to investigate and address any holes in our systems, Militias included.
Subscriptions
We’re also committed to identifying and remedying any lingering issues with our new subscription system. We have been able to quickly fix player issues on an individual basis as they pop up, and we request that if you notice any issues with your subscription that you email us at [email protected] as soon as you notice the issue.
Keep Sending Your Feedback!
We are continuing to have conversations with members of the community, read all feedback in email and across all of our platforms, and are looking at ways to work your feedback into our plans, both immediate in the form of fixes and on a larger scale as part of our overall game development and design efforts. Please remember that we are a small team, and are still in Early Access. Some of your best suggestions take time, work, and planning, including ensuring that they will work with the existing plans for features and systems. We value your feedback, and we want to hear it. If you aren’t comfortable posting it publicly in one of our channels, you can share it directly with us by emailing [email protected].
