New Housing Blueprints

We have worked hard to make sure that crafters feel rewarded for completing crafting orders in this update. It’s also important that they feel like they have a chance to get really valuable rewards from completing an order. That is exactly why these new housing blueprints will be issued as a rare reward from carpentry crafting orders.

The grand tower is the same building as the council of mages in Valus (minus the mage council banners) and requires a 30×20 sized plot. The tudor estate is now the largest house in the game sporting multiple levels and a balcony. The tudor estate requires a 25×28 size plot. Both of these houses have the largest container and lockdown limits. (25 containers, 568 lockdowns)

Going forward we will continue to work on new and interesting housing styles to roll out in future updates.

Currency Changes

One of the things we see new players struggle with is managing the game’s multiple currency denominations. The main point of these denominations is to allow adventurers to carry large sums of money without weighing them down. However, when new players see items for sale for 5 silver, they have no idea how much that is. They also do not understand that you have to visit the bank to change up your coins.

During Closed Beta 2, we reduced the coin weight from 0.1 per coin to 0.02. This change actually removed the need for some of the intermediate denominations. You can now carry as much as 10,000 copper before you start to get overweight.

At Steam launch, copper and silver will be no more and gold coins will be used as the lowest denomination. This means most items will be sold in terms of quantities of gold and you will no longer need to do math in your head to figure out what something costs. We are keeping platinum but adjusting it’s value to 10,000 gold coins. Platinum will mainly only be used to carry large amounts of money and most players won’t even encounter platinum until mid-late game.

For all our current players, don’t worry all of your coins automatically will be converted over to use the new system. As will all your items for sale.

We are hoping that this change will put an end to a lot of the confusion new players have regarding currency in the game while still giving experienced characters a way to carry large sums of money.
